Silva Porto House

Casa Silva Porto is a rehabilitation project of an urban residential building located in Rua Silva Porto, in Porto.

The pre-existing building was composed of a one-storey volume located at the street side and a patio in the respective back, composed of a backyard and a small volume of annexes.

This project involved the reformulation and qualification of the pre-existing building's interior space. The increase of the building's height and the construction of a new floor with mezzanine allowed the liberation of the main façade, the definition of the entrance space and the creation of spatial relations between the different floors.

Light and the choice of materials were key elements to give more amplitude to the small spaces.
